What is Ultraformer?
Ultraformer is the newest development in ultrasound energy-based devices. It’s been developed to provide a far more comfortable alternative to similar devices on the market, whilst being even more effective in terms of treatment results. Ultraformer is based on the principle of HIFU using high-intensity focused and targeted ultrasound energy to induce skin tightening and contouring results.

How does Ultraformer work?
Ultraformer HIFU uses targeted ultrasound energy to create thermal neocollagenesis throughout the layers of the skin, resulting in collagen regeneration and the reduction of fat cells. The technology produces 65-75 degrees heat coagulation within the cell to stimulate the healing process and the production of collagen and elastin. The result? More youthful looking skin through fat reduction and improved skin firmness.

What does the experience look like?
You can expect to experience two phases of Ultraformer results:
First, you will feel an immediate tightening of your skin in the treated area, as the heat from the Micro-Focused Ultrasound contracts the network of collagen fibres. The strands of protein that make up collagen shrink when exposed to the levels of heat used in Ultraformer treatment like a sausage in a microwave.
Next, the Micro-Focused Ultrasound will stimulate other cells, called Fibroblasts, to manufacture new, stronger collagen. This gradually develops over a period of months. The result are seen 3-6 months later as a gradual lifting of the skin in the treated area, as the support structures fill out.

What is the downtime like for Ultraformer treatments?
One of the huge benefits of Ultraformer is there is no social downtime from the treatment experience, and with the treatment being around an hour you can even squeeze it into your lunchbreaks!
When will I see results?
Ultraformer benefits will peak between six and nine months after treatment. The new collagen produced will be stronger, and its structure more ‘youthful’ than previously. This in turn makes your skin stronger and better supported, helping to reverse the effects of ageing.
FAQ - About Ultraformer 3
For most there is no downtime, so when they leave the skin looks normal with no surface changes.
For a minority your skin may appear red or have a slight swelling or tenderness for a few hours. These effects are usually mild and should not cause alarm. Can carry on with your normal day and apply make up freely.
Ultraformer treatments are ideal for patients seeking the following:
- Totighten and plump visible skin lines and wrinkles on the face or body areas.
- Tolift and tighten sagging skin and reduce skin laxity on the face, neck, or other areas of the body.
- Toreduce small pockets of unwanted fat on the face and body.
- Anoptimal non-surgical option to fight ageing.
As with any treatment, there are certain lifestyle circumstances where Ultraformer won’t be suitable. These include:
- Pregnancy
- Breast feeding
- Have any open wounds / lesions / severe or cystic acne at the treatment area
- Metal implants in treatment areas
- Bio-absorbable implants in treatment areas
- Skin infections
- Haemorrhagic disorders
- Someautoimmune diseases
- Under 18 years of age
There are also some other precautions that exist, so please ensure you book a consultation before any treatment and discuss your medications and conditions thoroughly with us.
Immediately after the treatment some tightening and lifting will be visible. However because the treatment relies on collagen stimulation over time, optimal lifting results will be seen between 3-6 months post-treatment. We usually recommend a review at 4 months to assess your results when your main aim is skin lifting.
For skin lifting you can have a maximum of 3 treatments a year with the second a minimum of 3 months after the first. For skin tightening you can enjoy a treatment every 3-4 weeks. For Fat dissolving you can enjoy a treatment every 3-4 weeks.
